From Marrakech:
8-Day Atlas Trekking(June and July)

Day 2: Transfer from Marrakech to Bouguemez

Transfer to the Aït Bouguemez valley via Imi'n Ifri or via Ouzoud (4-5 hours drive without stops)

Drive from the plains to the high mountains. Views of breathtaking landscapes full of contrasts.

Breaks, lunch and possible visit to geological sites such as the natural bridge of Imin'Ifri or the Ouzoud waterfalls.

Arrival at the guest house, introduction to the conservation of mountain sheep at Alliance Berbère and welcome to the heart of the Atlas!

Dinner and overnight stay in the guest house.

 

Day 3: Imelghas/Timit/Aït Ziri/Arous

Walking time: 5 hours, elevation gain + 500m.

Meeting with the mule team and packing the mules.

Hike to the other end of the Aït Bouguemez valley via Timit, Aït Ziri, with lunch on the way to Arous.

Ascent to the high pastures and overnight stay in the summer sheepfolds of Imi'n Ikkis (camp at 2300m).

 

 Day 4: Imi'n Ikkis/False Col/Tizi N'Aghouri/Tarkedit Plateau

Walking time: 6 hours, altitude +1000m -500m

We follow the mineral path with indescribable views.

6-hour hike to the Tarkedit plateau, encounter with nomadic shepherds and herds.

Group formation for the ascent to M'GOUN and those who follow the ridge with the mule team.

Spend the night in a tent or outdoors under the stars.

 

 Day 5: Climb to the summit of M'Goun/Ighil Tanout

Walking time: 9 hours. Difference in altitude + 1168m, difference in altitude -1070m.

Early ascent to the M'Goun ridge line, hike along the ridge with breathtaking views.

Continue to the summit of M'Goun (4068m), picnic and descent to the sheep farms of Asderm.

Camp at Iglil 'n Tanout (3000m) near nomadic shepherds.

 

Day 6: Ighil Tanout/Oulilimt/Afflafal gorges

Walking time: 6:00 hours, +800 meters

Descent through a beautiful mineral universe.

Arrival on a rocky outcrop, descent to the Afflafal gorges via Oulilimt.

Picnic and free time along the watercourses. Camp at the spring in Aflafal.

 

 Day 7: Return to Aït Bouguemez

Two return options: By 4X4 back to the guesthouse (45 minutes) or 25 minutes by 4x4 + 5 hours walk, altitude difference 1000 meters. 

Long descent into the green valley, lunch under the trees, visit to the dinosaur tracks and the flour mill.

Return to the guesthouse via Tabant, the administrative center of the valley.

Shower, rest, festive meal, farewell to the team and overnight stay in the guest house.

 

Day 8: Return to Marrakech

Return to Marrakech and overnight stay at Riad L'Orientale similar.

Exploring Marrakech.

Dinner in the city (at own expense).

Day 9: Departure

Breakfast and transfer to the airport.
