6-Day Round Trip to the Sahara & Fez

Day 1: Marrakech - Boumalne Dades

The journey to the Dades Valley via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2260 m above sea level) takes you through the Atlas Mountains, Berber villages, Kasbahs, Ouarzazate, Skoura, and El Kalaat Megouna. Along the way, there will be photo stops and leisurely breaks for lunch, tea, and coffee. Highlights of the trip include a visit to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. Wrap up the day with dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel in Boumalne in the Dades Gorge.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Merzouga

After breakfast, departure towards the Erg Chebbi desert to Merzouga through many Berber villages scattered along the way. a walk in the oasis in the shade of palm trees, visit to the Todra Gorge. Continue to Tinjdad, and Erfoud, arrival in Merzouga. After relaxing in Merzouga, continue with a small travel bag for the camel trekking (approx. 1h). Over the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to a traditional Berber camp. Sunset on the highest dunes. The night in a traditional Berber tent, starry sky and drum music by the fire.

Day 3: Merzouga desert excursion

Wake up early at sunrise, breakfast, then round trip by 4WD in the breathtaking Chebbi dunes. Lunch in a traditional restaurant in Khamilia with Gnawa music. Free time and overnight stay in a riad/kasbah in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga - Fez

After breakfast, drive through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains to cedar forests where we can see the Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus). We arrive in Fez through the town of Ifrane in the evening. Free evening in the old medina of Fez. Overnight stay in a riad, free time and dinner.

Day 5: Free day in Fez

Today is a free day (optional with a local guide) to visit the sights of Fez (the medina, tannaries, souks, the royal palace).

Day 6: Fez - Marrakech

After breakfast, we take the highway to Marrakech (532 km). We will take you back to your accommodation in Marrakech.
